Teaching the web, on paper

A digital curriculum pack for Mozilla

I designed this piece of digital curriculum called a ‘teaching kit’ on a now-defunct platform of free and open digital tools called ‘Webmaker’, with the aim of meeting the specific needs of educators who were part of Mozilla Learning’s global communities and wanted to share digital skills with learners, but who also often found themselves teaching in offline and low-fi environments where wifi access was not guaranteed. The activity lead teachers through the process of co-designing digital curriculum together offline, using a simple printable canvas. It was user-tested with various communities, and then modified into several different versions from 2013-2015, all of which were openly licensed, with raw design files made available to anyone who wanted to remix them for their own uses. It was very well-received by the teachers who tested it, and was translated into Spanish and other languages.
