Project: Remixology event series
A digital media event series
I organised the Remixology salon series in 2010 with the Fresh Media collective in Vancouver to explore whether ‘new’ and participatory media outlets could be fostered from Canadian perspectives. Entitled “Toward cooperative media-making: How can professional and citizen journalists collaborate?”, the first salon event was moderated by the Vancouver Sun’s Gillian Shaw, and featured a talk by maker Kris Krug about his experiences documenting and sharing the BP oil spill on the web. The event sold out, and due to its positive reception, it became the first of a regular series of bi-monthly Remixology salons.
