Foreign Policy Camp

Vancouver’s first policy unconference

In 2009, I co-curated and designed Foreign Policy Camp, an experimental public policy conference, the first of its kind in Canada, in partnership with Simon Fraser University‘s Canada’s World and a set of national partners. Our aim was to engage participants using non-traditional methods that harnessed collaborative ‘new media’ interfaces and livestreams. We were joined by 300 policymakers, civil servants and students from across Canada, and a high level of satisfaction was cited in participant feedback. The event was also featured in a documentary about the Canada’s World project.
